PLEYSS is a dedicated training programme, specialising in the Early Years Sector.   The programme aims to provide individuals with the opportunity to gain the essential skills to become more employable within the early years sector.

Starting a career in Early Years opens many career opportunities, from apprenticeships, regular employment to being your own boss!   Working in a childcare role  will give you the chance to support  children as they learn, develop, and prepare for school.

What are the Early Years?

Children aged 0-5 are known as the Early Year’s group.   This stage of a child’s life is crucial. They need to be ready for school and have developed the necessary skills to progress forward.   Individuals who work in Early Years play an important role in helping children from birth to school age reach their full potential.

PLEYSS is fully inclusive and aimed at anyone who:

  • is aged between 16-69 who is unemployed,
  • is living in London,
  • is not currently in education,
  • would like to pursue a career in the Early Years sector.

Course Information

The programme offers a simple pathway with two options, both leading to recognised qualifications:

All learners will receive work preparation/employability training, Maths and English support as well as a guaranteed interview with one of our Early Years partners.

Upon completion, all learners will be guaranteed an interview with an employer in an Early Years setting. based within London.

The programme can be tailored to individual learner needs

  • Learners can achieve a recognised sector-based qualification up to level 3. 
  • Learners will receive Employability training, helping them to become more employable. 
  • Frequent employment support and a guaranteed interview. 
  • Full mentoring support to identify and address any learning barriers. 
  • The programme accommodates all academic levels including additional support to those with ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), numeracy, and literacy difficulties. 
  • FREE Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY) membership to those embarking on the childminder/Nanning route.
